On Tuesday, Apple introduced the new iPhone 17, Along with the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air. Everything new for iPhone 17!
New colour
Of course, the most immediate change compared to the iPhone 16 is the new colour. iPhone 17 is coming in Lavender, sage, mist blue, white, blackiPhone 16 came in pink, teal, ultramarine, white and black. And they share the same name as before, but the black color is lighter than before, and the white color looks a little brighter.
For the first time on a non-professional iPhone, the new iPhone 17 is finally offering promotions! This means that the iPhone 17 gets some great new features:
- Adaptive refresh rates from low 1Hz to 120Hz heights. This improves smoother emotional display and battery life.
- Always On Display: When your iPhone 17 is sleeping, the display can display hours, widgets, and notifications.
The iPhone 17 gets a slightly larger display from the 6.1-6.3-inch iPhone 16. This is mainly due to the thin bezel around the display.
The iPhone 17 will also debut Ceramic Shield 2. This brings you some new features.

- New 7-layer anti-reflective coating significantly reduces glare
Finally, all new iPhone models this year feature 3,000 nits of peak display brightness outdoors since last year 2000. In combination with the new anti-reflective coating, Apple says this will provide twice as much contrast outdoors.
A19 chip
The A19 chip further improves the performance of your iPhone 17. The new features are focused heavily on improving AI capabilities. New neural accelerators significantly improve performance for machine learning and artificial intelligence tasks. Apple says it will provide Power for the MacBook Pro-Levels. The A19 also features an increase in memory bandwidth, but Apple does not specify how much it has increased. Finally, something like the game will improve, as Apple states that its GPU on the A19 has 20% better performance compared to the A18.
Improved battery life and charging
According to Apple’s testing, the iPhone 17 is set to significantly increase battery life. Here’s how it compares to the iPhone 16:

- Streamed video playback from 18 hours to up to 27 hours
The iPhone 17 offers improved performance compared to the iPhone 16 Plus.

The iPhone 17 also comes with a new charging feature. Currently, QI2.2 supports Q2.2 or Q2.2 with fast charges up to 25W via Magsafe chargers. It also supports 40W fast charging, so you can get up to 50% charge in just 20 minutes instead of 30 minutes.
New 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide Camera
Like last year’s iPhone 16 Pro, the iPhone 17 acquired a 48-megapixel ultra-wide “fusion” camera, four times more than the iPhone 16’s 12MP ultra-wide camera. “fusion” here means that you can get a full resolution 12MP macro photo rather than 3MP. By default, you can get 24MP with ultra-width photos, but you can also capture 48MP. This means that the macro photo will be much sharper and sharper. However, there is a slight downgrade. The iPhone 16 has 100% focus pixels, while the iPhone 17 has “hybrid focus pixels.” This means that you don’t always use the more advanced autofocus that focus pixels provide.
All-new center stage front camera
One of the headline features of the new iPhone lineup is the all-new center stage front camera. This camera now uses a square image sensor. This means you can switch between portrait photos and landscape photos without rotating your phone. The sensor is currently at 18MP, so the photos are always at high resolution.
The square sensor and high resolution make it possible to center stage your iPhone for the first time. Like the iPad, this means that the camera automatically adjusts the frame to make it visible on facetie time calls or other video calls. However, center stage also works when taking selfies. The camera automatically adjusts the frame and switches between portraits and landscapes depending on who is in the frame. When recording video, it is super-stabilized, just like the action mode of the rear camera.
Finally, the new dual capture mode allows you to ultimately record video simultaneously on both the front and rear cameras.
New N1 Wireless Networking Chip
Using the iPhone 17, Apple introduced its first in-house wireless chip. In addition to improving overall wireless performance and reliability for features that rely on this chip (such as personal hotspots and airdrops), this new chip iPhone 17 has Bluetooth 6.
The iPhone 17 also features a precision dual frequency GPS for a more accurate and reliable GPS. It also gained support for India’s NAVIC.
Physical size and thickness
The iPhone 17’s dimensions have changed slightly compared to the iPhone 16. First, it’s slightly heavier and thicker.

The iPhone 17 is slightly taller, but slightly narrower than the iPhone 16.

Pricing and availability
The big news here is that the iPhone 17 starts with 256 GB of storage at the same starting price of $799. Last year, this cost $899. The 512 GB option is also expensive, making it $999 instead of $1099.
Unlike the past three generations, there is no iPhone 17 Plus this year.
The iPhone 17 can be pre-ordered at 5am on Friday, September 12th. Pre-orders can be prepared until 9pm tonight. It will be available in stores one week on Friday, September 19th.
